Outreach

Outreach is an important and essential part of our Christian faith.  Over the years we have been involved in a number of outreach initiatives to help those in need.  Some out our Outreach projects include:

Mission Trips

A team of volunteers has made several trips to New Orleans to help Hurricane Katrina victims as part of the St. Bernard Project.  The volunteers lent their construction skills to build and repair homes that will house the area homeless.
A team of volunteers has also made several trips to West Virginia to work with Wellspring of Greenbrier County to help needy families improve their homes, including electrical work and the building of wheelchair ramps.
A team of youth and adult volunteers has made several trips to Sussex County, NJ to help needy families with home repairs.

IHN

(Interfaith Hospitality Network)

IHN of Hunterdon County ministers to the needs of low-income and homeless families and women by providing temporary housing, meals, and other physical needs through a network of committed congregations throughout the county.  Although our church does not provide housing, we support IHN directly in other ways.  Several times during the year, we provide dinners to IHN guests when they stay at the nearby Rockaway Reformed Church.  We also supply clothes, supplied and food on an as-needed basis.

Child Fund International

We are blessed to be supporting Luis, from Ecuador, through our monthly donation to Child Fund International. CFI’s mission is to help deprived, excluded and vulnerable children living in poverty have the capacity to become young adults, parents and leaders who bring lasting and positive change to their communities. Jesus Christ himself displayed a soft-spot, if you will, for children. If we are to be like Him, we too should find a special place in our hearts for the children of the world.

CROP Walk

 (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty)

The CROP Walk is a community-based fundraising event which raise money for local hunger-fighting agencies as well as the international relief and development efforts of Church World Service. Every year our church members walk in this annual fundraiser knowing that the money raises will be helping families that are in need.

Red Bird Mission

Red Bird Mission and Clinic have been providing ministries in this region of the Appalachian Mountains since 1921. They empowers individuals and advocate for justice by providing educational, health, and community outreach ministries to area low-income residents. Today the need remains critical in this isolated, rural distressed area. Chronic poverty, lack of jobs, poor housing, and rugged mountainous terrain provide obstacles to a fuller life for the residents of this area. Red Bird Mission and Clinic strives to meet these needs and we proudly support their efforts.
