Our Pastor

Rev. Dr. David K. Ravinder has been our Senior Pastor here at Whitehouse United Methodist Church since July of 2008. Pastor Ravinder is an ordained Elder in the Greater NJ Annual Conference. Born and raised in India, Pastor David, whose father was also a Methodist minister, received his Master of Divinity from Serampore University in West Bengal.  After relocating to the U.S. in 1980, he received both his Master of Theology and his Doctorate degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary.

Following the completion of his Ph.D from Princeton Seminary, Dr. Ravinder began his pastoral ministry in 1985, having served churches in Warren, Bridgewater, Berkeley Heights, Roselle Park and Whitehouse Station. Since 1997 he has also served as the Hon. Senior Pastor of the United Evangelical Christian Fellowship (UECF). In addition he has taught courses in India, Singapore and here in USA.

David has an unquenchable passion for Jesus and the Gospel.  He brings to the pulpit a solid foundation in the Word of God.  His preaching is passionate, practical, and seasoned with humor and real-life relevance.  His goal – indeed the goal of our church – is “to make disciples of Jesus Christ”.  David encourages us to find our purpose – what gifts has God given us that can bear fruit? Having grown up in India and being exposed to a larger world view than most, Pastor Ravinder brings a vibrant insight into the application of God’s Word into our daily lives. He challenges to think beyond the conventional and truly mediate on how we each fit into the Body of Christ.
